Desert Island Discs Brand Identity

Desert Island Discs is one of BBC Radio 4’s most iconic properties. Fallon were appointed to rebrand the programme, in time for the full 60 year archive to be accessible online. 

I wanted to create a mark that communicates the brand without words, so landed on the idea of a disc reflecting like a sunset, executed in a  minimal style to ensure maximum usability across iPlayer radio and mobile platforms, where it will be used and seen frequently. 

The palette uses secondary colours from the Radio 4 brand, and the disc symbol forms the basis of patterns to use around branded content.
